Paramedic Tactical Unit
This specialized team was created as a result of a Coroner's jury recommendation out of the OC Transpo shooting incident in April 1999. Ottawa Paramedic Service Tactical Paramedics work along side members of the Ottawa Police Services Tactical Team.
While carrying no weapons, these Paramedics are educated in advanced medical care during dangerous Police tactical operations All members of this team must undergo exhaustive physical, clinical and psychological assessments. They regularly participate in "live training" with members of the Ottawa Police Tactical unit.
