Ward 18 Alta Vista
Peter Hume is a life-long resident of the Alta Vista ward. He attended Hawthorne Public School and Canterbury High School before graduating to Carleton University where he earned a degree in Economics. He has represented the Alta Vista ward at both the local and regional levels of government since 1991.
In 2003, his council peers appointed Peter Chairman of the Planning and Environment Committee and a member of the Corporate Services and Economic Development Committee. Peter has served on the Hydro Ottawa Board of Directors since 2004. In 2005, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), where he remains Chair of the Regional and Single Tier Caucus as well as a member of AMO’s Executive Committee. He was recently appointed as a municipal representative to the Political Table of the Provincial-Municipal Fiscal Review process.
Peter is an active member of his community sponsoring and participating in numerous projects and events. He resides in Ottawa’s Alta Vista ward with his wife Ann-Marie and their young daughter Helen.
